Pregunta 1
Dificultad fácil≈ 1 min
Make an appropriate sentence.
I missed the meeting yesterday.
Could you ______ ?
decidedmedidwhattellthey
Ver respuesta y explicación
Could you tell me what they decided?
Explicación
"Could you tell me what they decided?" In an embedded question, the word order is statement order: question word + subject + verb ("what they decided"), not "what did they decide". "Tell" needs its object "me" right after it.
The extra tile "did" tempts you into question order ("what did they decide"), which is wrong inside an embedded question and would also need the base form "decide".
Pregunta 2
Dificultad media≈ 1 min
Make an appropriate sentence.
Why are you studying in the hallway?
The library ______ .
tootoverywasfind a seatcrowded
Ver respuesta y explicación
The library was too crowded to find a seat.
Explicación
"The library was too crowded to find a seat." The structure is too + adjective + to-infinitive: "too crowded to find a seat". The verb "was" must come right after the subject.
The extra tile "very" does not work with a to-infinitive: "very crowded to find a seat" is ungrammatical; only "too" expresses this result.
Pregunta 3
Dificultad difícil≈ 1 min
Make an appropriate sentence.
Is the conference still happening next week?
Not only ______ , but the venue has also changed.
beenisitpostponedhas
Ver respuesta y explicación
Not only has it been postponed, but the venue has also changed.
Explicación
"Not only has it been postponed, but the venue has also changed." When a sentence begins with "Not only," the auxiliary comes before the subject (inversion): "has it been postponed", not "it has been postponed".
The extra tile "is" cannot replace "has" ("is it been postponed" is ungrammatical), and the present perfect passive needs "has been".
